"Tamenuri" means the technique which is the same one as Wajima artists use to make "Kuro-tamenuri " (blackish-red). The Nakaya Decapod Writer in Twist Tokii-tamenuri provides an ideal canvas for this layered tamenuri finish. Hand-turned from naturally harvested ebonite hard rubber, and hand-finished in natural urushi lacquer, each requires six months or more to be completed.
